We are still awaiting official data regarding the number of trims available for the Recon BEV and their pricing.

However, we do know that it will likely be offered in 4 trims that will quickly win you over. These include the already popular Trail, Overland, and Rubicon, and for the fourth, reports speak of an even higher-performance trim known as the Moab.

This final trim is expected to proudly feature the Trail-Rated badge from Jeep. For those unfamiliar with it, the badge is awarded to vehicles that have been put through ‒ and conquered ‒ rigorous tests that are not for the faint-of-heart. In fact, vehicles worthy of this accolade are assessed on 5 key aspects: traction, manoeuvrability, articulation, ground clearance, and water fording.

Right from the start, the all-new Recon sets new standards for the manufacturer, as can be seen instantly from the exterior design. Although it will share family resemblances with the Wrangler and the Wagoneer, the traditional radiator grille has been replaced by an even more imposing version featuring seven illuminated slits.

The heart of the beast, the powertrain, combines two electric motors that deliver instantaneous torque to all four wheels. The Recon will also be equipped with an ultra high-performing 4-wheel drive system featuring a locking differential, according to available information.

Engine and Power

The Recon will be built on the STLA Large platform; this platform is familiar, as it is the same one on which the Wagoneer S is built (and it is expected to support the new 2026 Cherokee as well). This means that the powertrain should combine two electric motors and a 100.5-kWh battery.

The powertrain is expected to reach 500 horsepower and 524 lb-ft. of maximum torque. As mentioned earlier, rumours suggest that a high-performance version may also be available. In that case, you could expect 600 horsepower (or even more) and 617 lb-ft. of maximum torque. More details will be revealed soon.

Towing Capacity and Cargo Space

The 2026 Recon BEV should be capable of towing up to 2,000 lb. (907 kg), which should be sufficient for a host of equipment destined for your off-road adventures.
