In the full-size pickup segment, there are very few main players aside from the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra. But there are also the RAM 1500 and the Ford F-150, two options that we compare in this blog. Extremely practical, these pickups are tireless workers and no matter what you have to tow, there is the prefect pickup for your needs.
For the 2024 model-year, the RAM 1500 Classic trim has been removed; this year also marks the very last one for you to get your hands on a RAM TRX, the off-road ultra-powerful 1500 trim from RAM. In fact, the TRX won't be carried over to the 2025 catalog, so this is your last chance to purchase this amazing pickup! In order to celebrate this last hurrah, the manufacturer offers the RAM 1500 TRX 6.2 L Supercharged Final Edition, which stands out with three stunning body colors:
Equipped with exclusive brushed titanium wheels, the RAM 1500 TRX offers contrasting red topstitches on the seats and dashboard, an embroidered TRX logo on the seats and carbon fiber accents throughout the cabin. A number plate is featured on the console. As for standard equipment, you will find:
Ford also has an equivalent of the RAM 1500 TRX in its F-150 range: the Raptor. It is equipped with a 3.5-Liter EcoBoost V6 as a base engine, with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of maximum torque. However, you can also opt for the 5.2-Liter supercharged V8 with 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of maximum torque as an option. There is also a new body color option, Green Refuge, which is very close to an army green hue.
For this new model-year, the Ford F-150 also comes with a few changes, like the fact that the 3.3-Liter V6 is no longer available, a new radiator grille, new screens and a separate tailgate that opens right to left, just like the one found on the RAM 1500.
Available in eight trims, the RAM 1500 offers an additional trim option when compared to the F-150. Here they are:
